Marja Lubov

One of the many pictures I made along the years in an attempt to recreate the masterpieces of Bernhard Aaronsohn-Ari Ben Aaron, the hero of the "Argaman Quintet", which is why the signature says Argaman in Hebrew letters as well as having my own, for copyright reasons.

He was an artistic genius; I sadly am not, but the picture is pleasing enough for all that. Pastel on board, for those of you who like to know these things – that version still hangs in my studio and remains one of my favourite pieces; later scanned and block-mounted, this is a photo of the block-mount.

Marja Lubov is the Christian wife of Yakov Baritzchak, or Mikhail Lubov as he had become by then, in "The Chronicle of the Kingdom of Alphalia".
