Ari Ben Aaron

Did I model this on Jocelyn Brooke, he of "The Orchid Trilogy"? The cover of my edition of that book is highly stylised, but memory tells me that I did. The intention, as with several of these pictures, was to create some of the works of Bernhard Aaronsohn/Ari Ben Aaron, the central character in my "Argaman Quintet", and I made this as a draft for his self-portrait, the one that Ayishah fell in love with in "A Little Oil & Root". At one stage I used this picture, reduced to the size of a small stamp, as the logo for TheArgamanPress website, which is why it appears as such in the bottom right hand corner. This is the original pen drawing, scanned. Small canvas.
